The ABC Library uses LibGuides CMS so that they can have a library website independent of their municipality, which doesn't quite understand the size of the library website they need or how often it needs updating.
ABC Library needed a dynamic, easy-to-update system that librarians and library staff without web coding or design skills can use.
Its interoperability with LibCal and LibAnswers is beneficial, but the database management, sharable image manager, and templates/groups are the real workhorses of their website.
This school library has done some extraordinary customizations of their LibGuides CMS system using in-house expertise.
One aspect that cannot be overstated is the ability to provide for more than one platform through one service. It is our ability to create one page that allows users on any platform to access our materials with no compromise on look and feel and most importantly the user experience.

Using a customized LibGuides template and some advanced CSS, the LibGuides team at Fairmont State has created a gorgeous and functional library homepage.
A customized header includes an 'Ask Us' link to their LibAnswers homepage and Bootstrap menus seamlessly resize on mobile devices.
Not everyone has in-house expertise to customize LibGuides to your wants or needs. Springshare Consulting Services can help! Depending on your package, we can either build your library website, customize your LibGuides system, or deliver some customized training to walk you through it.
When building our new library website, we decided to use Springshare Consulting to customize the style of our site because our library has a small staff with limited bandwidth to dedicate to the extensive customizations we wanted and needed to match our university’s website.
Our experience with Springshare Consulting couldn’t have been better! We submitted sample layouts and screenshots of the style we were trying to match, and they made our vision happen! Our consultant was fantastic to work with, and each meeting with her throughout the customization process resulted not only in tangible steps forward in customizing our site, but training tidbits that help me manage our Springshare systems better. The final training and set up was so helpful. I can confidently manage our website and our Springshare systems (including the custom CSS), and the process of launching the new site was so smooth! We are so happy with the results of our customized site which gives us both the style and the functionality we wanted our website to have.

City, University of London is not hosting their library website on LibGuides. However, they worked with our consulting team to match the branding of their LibGuides system to their institution's.
We were delighted to have the option to customise our guide to match our university branding. It now blends seamlessly with the City website. We’ve also been able to integrate booking for our training workshops using LibCal and used the database function to create a library of screencasts. Carrie from Springshare helped us at every stage. Her expertise meant she was able to make changes that would have taken us hours to figure out in a matter of minutes. Since she also explained what she was doing, we now feel confident to make future changes ourselves.

There's nothing like hitting publish on that fresh new LibGuide. Since 2007, folks have created over a million LibGuides for their patrons. And many more, seeing the flexibility that creating LibGuides can bring, have used it to power their Library website.
