The Baton Rouge community has experienced a turbulent year with the unprecedented ‘500 year’ flooding on top of the killing of Alton Sterling, and the reprisal killing of three police officers. We’ll look at the role of East Baton Rouge Parish Library’s LibGuides during these difficult times.
With over 61 published guides and hits totaling in the thousands, Boston Public Library uses LibGuides for a variety of reasons from sharing information with the public, showcasing important events in Boston, to coordinating LibGuides to their instruction program.

Kathryn Simmons, User Experience (UX) Designer - South Carolina State Library
In this session, we will take a look at how the South Carolina State Library has integrated LibGuides into its overall Drupal website, with consistency of header and footer. We will review two of the library’s LibGuides—Black History Month Resources and Digital Collections. Attendees will come to understand the importance of seamless website/LibGuide design and see examples of using multiple statewide resources to support subject-specific topics and projects.
Callan Bignoli, Web Coordinator at Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners
In 2015, the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners celebrated their 125th year of service. MBLC staff collaborated on a library fact-finding mission that sent them all over the Web – deep into the Digital Commonwealth online archive and dozens of Massachusetts history sites – and digging through hundreds of files, photos, and annual reports in our Boston office. We poured the accumulated knowledge into a LibGuides “microsite” that made it easy to jump from decade to decade and search for individual libraries or historic events. Callan will talk about how customizable templates in LibGuides CMS can help you make just about any type of online marketing collateral you might need – whether it’s a brochure, a digital flyer, a branding guide, or a “quick n’ dirty” site to promote a special event or new service – with or without the design elements of a traditional LibGuide.
