Creating & Hosting OER using LibGuides CMS

Poster Creating & Hosting OER using LibGuides CMS

Poster Session

This session will show how librarians at Georgia Southern University collaborated with teaching faculty to adapt the LibGuides platform to host an OER textbook. Unlike document-based OER, this textbook includes an array of dynamic content that can be edited by the faculty in real time over multiple semesters. Given that hosting is integral to any OER project, this poster should be of interest to any academic library that is in the process of developing, or already engaged in providing, support for locally-hosted OER content. Participants will have an opportunity to review decisions that led to using LibGuides, the Pros & Cons of using the LibGuides platform, the end product, scholarly work evolving from this project, as well future plans.
