Try Everything: Using LibGuides and LibWizard to bring library events online

Rachel Valentine, Blinn College

Procrastination: Impossible was a well-regarded, highly attended event for our library. In the wake of the pandemic, Blinn had to find a new way to offer this event to both students and faculty volunteers. Using LibGuides and LibWizard (and a few other fun pieces of software) they were able to bring this event totally online for the Fall of 2020. Rachel will discuss how they used Springshare tools to do this, and their plan to create a hybrid event for Fall 2021.

Rachel Valentine has been a librarian for 8 years and loves it. Currently, she is a Reference and Instruction Librarian at Blinn College in Bryan, TX. She loves helping students to learn how to do research because she loves to research herself. She has a B.A. in History from Texas Tech University, an M.A. in Modern British Women's History from London Metropolitan University, and an MLS (Master of Library Science) from Texas Woman's University. This is her second time presenting at SpringyCamp and we are excited to have her back.
