Springy Training in Spanish / Sesiones de capacitación en español

If you've been using Springshare Tools for one month or for ten years, you know that support is our top priority. Recently, we've been working to expand our training and support offerings to reach even more of our customers. This means offering new and interesting sessions, building up our SpringyU library, and most recently, offering training sessions in Spanish! 

Starting in October, we began offering LibAnswers and LibGuides trainings in Spanish. Our Training Team's goal is to continue to develop and offer more sessions and begin to include other tools in early 2023. Keep an eye on our Training Calendar for more.

Si has usado Springshare Tools durante un mes o por diez años, sabes que la atención al cliente es nuestra prioridad principal. Recientemente, hemos estado trabajando para expandir nuestras ofertas de capacitación y soporte para llegar a aún más clientes. Estamos creando sesiones nuevas e interesantes, agregando más cursos a SpringyU y, más recientemente, ¡brindando sesiones de capacitación en español!

This fall we welcomed aboard several new Spanish-speaking Springys dedicated to helping you! In this edition of SpringyNews, they're introducing themselves and providing one helpful tip they've learned since joining the team. We're so excited to have them on board!

  • My role: Here at Springshare, I am a training specialist and my goal is to bring all of the excellent live training and services we offer in English to our Spanish-speaking customers.
  • How I landed at Springshare: I have worked in many academic libraries in both the U.S. and Mexico. Prior to coming to Springshare, I worked at a Historically Black and Hispanic Serving Community College where I was introduced to Springshare products. Once I discovered how fantastic both the Springshare products and the people are, I was hooked! 
  • My favorite Springshare tip: Check out our excellent training sessions on Accessibility. Though Springshare products are designed to be accessible out-of-the-box, there is so much you can do to make your LibGuides, FAQs, and other pages gorgeous and accessible to all patrons. (Note: Accessibility training coming soon in Spanish!)

  • My role: I am a new member of the Springshare Support team. This means I may be one of the awesome Springy Support Staff who responds to your ticket when need some help or have a question. It's been a blast to help folks out and flex my detective skills when troubleshooting mysteries pop up. 

  • How I landed at Springshare: Previously, I was a Children’s and Adult Literacy Manager for a public library. I’ve always enjoyed helping people out and especially getting the technical side of things working for them. I saw the call for support staff, submitted my resume, and the rest is history. Now, I’m helping all you lovely folks out there with your Springshare questions!

  • I’ve got way too many favorite tips!! But, probably my top would have to be the Email Queue in LibCal. I honestly never knew this existed when I was a LibCal user. It would have saved me so many headaches! The Email Queue in LibCal lets you see if the outgoing email such as Confirmation or Reminder emails went through, and you can even see a snapshot of its contents! It’s the librarian in me, I always want to reference what gets sent out so when someone asks, I can follow up with a screenshot.

  • My role: My day-to-day duties consist of helping our customers with their troubleshooting questions and mysteries. It’s rewarding to teach our Springy folks all kinds of tricks and tips so that they can have the best Springy experience.
  • My background:  I worked as a student assistant and digital media specialist at my school’s library all throughout undergrad. It sparked my love and appreciation for libraries! I learned about Springshare through my colleague Brian, who recommended I apply for one of the open positions. He only had wonderful things to say about the company and the team, so I took a chance and I’m so happy I did!
  • Springy tip: I love letting our customers know about the Language Options feature in LibCal where you can customize the default text on your LibCal site. It’s a good way to show your library’s personality!

  • Soy un especialista en capacitación y mi objetivo es brindar todas las sesiones de capacitación en vivo que ofrecemos en inglés a nuestros clientes de habla hispana.
  • He trabajado en muchas bibliotecas académicas tanto en los Estados Unidos como en México. Antes de llegar a Springshare, trabajaba en un colegio comunitario donde conocí los productos de Springshare. Una vez que descubrí lo fantásticos que son los productos y personas de Springshare, ¡me enganché!
  • Mi consejo favorito de Springshare: aprovechen nuestras excelentes sesiones de capacitación sobre accesibilidad. Aunque los productos de Springshare están diseñados para ser accesibles desde el primer momento, hay mucho que pueden hacer para que sus LibGuides, preguntas frecuentes y otras páginas sean atractivas y accesibles para todos los usuarios. (Nota: ¡Capacitación sobre accesibilidad próximamente en español!)

  • Soy un nuevo miembro del equipo de soporte de Springshare. Esto significa que podría ser uno de los miembros del personal de apoyo que responda a sus preguntas. ¡Ha sido genial ayudar a la gente!

  • Anteriormente, fui gerente del departamento de niños y adultos para una biblioteca pública. Siempre me ha gustado ayudar a la gente y, especialmente, hacer que la parte técnica funcione para ellos. Vi la llamada para más personal de apoyo en Springshare, envié mi currículum y el resto es historia. Ahora estoy ayudando a todos ustedes con sus preguntas de Springshare.

  • ¡Tengo tantos consejos favoritos, es difícil elegir solo uno! Si tuviera que elegir, tendría que ser el Email Queue--la cola de correo electrónico--en LibCal. Honestamente, nunca supe que esto existía cuando era usuario de LibCal, ¡me habría ahorrado tantos dolores de cabeza! La cola de correo electrónico en LibCal le permite ver si el correo electrónico saliente, como los correos electrónicos de confirmación o recordatorio, se procesaron. ¡Incluso puede ver una foto de su contenido! Es el bibliotecario en mí, siempre quiero hacer referencia a lo que se envía para que cuando alguien pregunte, pueda incluir una captura de pantalla.

  • Mis funciones diarias consisten en ayudar a nuestros clientes con sus dudas y misterios. Es gratificante enseñar a nuestros clientes Springy todo tipo de trucos y consejos para que puedan tener la mejor experiencia con nuestros productos.
  • Trabajé como asistente estudiantil y especialista en medios digitales en la biblioteca de mi universidad. ¡Despertó mi amor y aprecio por las bibliotecas! Me enteré de Springshare a través de mi colega, Brian, quien me recomendó postularme para uno de sus puestos vacantes. Él solo tenía cosas maravillosas que decir sobre la compañía y el equipo, así que me arriesgué y estoy muy feliz de haberlo hecho.
  • Me encanta informar a nuestros clientes sobre la función "opciones de idioma" en LibCal dónde pueden personalizar el texto predeterminado en su sitio de LibCal. ¡Es una buena manera de mostrar la personalidad de su biblioteca!
