East Baton Rouge Library - Using LibGuides with Great Success

EBRPL LogoAndrew Tadman & Louise Hilton - LibGuides @ EBPL

Abstract:

EBRPL is the largest library system in Louisiana, covering the capital city of Baton Rouge and the surrounding parish. We have nearly 350,000 card holders, 14 branches,  and last year we circulated 2.5 million items. We currently have 135 active LibGuides and last year we received nearly 150,000 LibGuide views. The largest LibGuide successes for us have been using them as 'how to guides' for Overdrive, and as a focal point for community programs such as out 'One Book/One Community' and for our Maker resources and programming.

Andrew Tadman is the Reference and Computer Services Coordinator for the East Baton Rouge Parish Library system. He is also the Project Coordinator for the Baton Rouge Mini Maker Faire which is now in its second year and a showpiece community maker event. He serves on the Louisiana statewide database selection committee. Outside the library world Andrew is a blogger and horror aficionado.

Louise Hilton is a Reference librarian with the East Baton Rouge Parish Library. She manages the library’s LibGuides system and library blog and is active in adult programming and social media. Outside the library world, Louise is a book reviewer and avid Francophile.
